wasn't it you?

i think it was you and i who used to talk so late

questioning how love turns to hate.

i think it was you and i who knew it from the start

discovering hypocrisy was just another art

i think it must have been you who finally broke right through

and showed what we got for the price that we paid.

to find it wasn't enough, no it's never enough.

and all along we were digging our own graves.

wasn't it you who said you loved me?

wasn't it you who's been thinking of me?

wasn't it you?  i thought it was you.  it must have been you..

wasn't it you who said you need me?

you laid on your back and said you'd deceive me.

wasn't  it you i thought it was you.  it should have been you..

now i know you're the one. but now our time is done

whatever mistakes lay in the past that was long long ago.

i think it must have been love, we were thinking of.

we both needed someone to hold. maybe, someone we could trust.

i think it's still intact though it's after the fact.

consumed by our passions and not by our lust.

if there was never a doubt, if there was never a fear,

if there was never a way out then how the hell did we end up here?

wasn't it you who said you'd know me?

wasn't it you who said you'd own me?

wasn't it you?  i thought it was you.  it had to be you.

wasn't it you who said you need me?

stretched on the bed and you begged to receive me?

wasn't it you?  i thought it was you.  it should have been you.

wasn't it you who said you loved me?

wasn't it you who's been thinking of me?

wasn't it you? why wasn't it you?  why wasn't it you?
