Booking Some Guy
"Robb performs a blend of Indie Folk-Rock Music with hints of Blues and Reggae influence.
He's best when he's able to engage with his audience and entertain them with his stories and original songs, mixed with a variety of eclectic cover songs. People will go away smiling, thinking of his stories, with his tunes stuck in their heads."

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The typical process for working with a new customer looks like this:
First, we'll discuss your needs and see if Robb's services are a good fit. If yes, we'll confirm the price and fine tune the details of your event such as set list, time and date, dress code, etc. Once we have everything in place, Robb will send over the performance agreement. To lock in our agreement, you'll provide your signature and a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the date. Two weeks prior to your event the remaining balance is due, and Robb will reach out regarding any last-minute notes or changes that need to be made. On the day of your event, Robb will arrive approximately two hours prior to showtime to set up, and give your guests an amazing performance at the appointed time. Once the performance is over, Robb can throw on a suitable Spotify playlist for a few minutes during short breaks, and at a reasonable time he will quietly pack up and be on his way after thanking you once more for a lovely event.
-
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since 1998 Robb has played over 5000 shows all across the US and the UK. Corporate events, clubs, festivals, fairs, weddings, wineries, and more - you name it, he's played it. Over the years Robb has refined his craft by honing every aspect of his business from stage performance, to sound engineering, setlist curation, and most importantly: client satisfaction. He's a seasoned entertainment professional and your event is in good hands!
-
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Robb has always loved music— he started performing in his early teens at coffee shops and school get togethers, and his career just unfolded from there. In high school and college he performed solo and with a band. Once he honed his show to a truly professional level, he went full time into music performance. He now specialize in providing premium entertainment for corporate and individual clients around the country.
-
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There's a ton of musicians out there but very few entertainers. Anyone can strum a guitar and sing a few tunes, but most musicians aren't making a living and they lack the experience with sound engineering, setlist curation, and stagecraft to give you a premium experience. If you have the budget, it's highly recommend you hire a professional musician.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The number one thing you should think through before hiring live music for your event is whether you actually have the budget to afford the quality entertainment your event deserves. If you're not prepared to invest in a professional, your event may be better off with a boom box and a Spotify playlist.
