KING OF NOTHING

well you drive around with your head filled up

and your windows  down

is it so easy to mislead?

where are you coming from?  don’t you realize what you’ve done 

is it so cool? now is it so free?

 

there’s multitudes of nothing standing in your way

you’ve lost your sense of innocence is that all that you can say?

because i can do better

 

i’m the king of nothing and no one’s here so go away

and leave this king alone, yes alone to contemplate

and if i figure it out i’ll send a messenger your way

i’m the king of nothing and those are the  rules if you want to play

 

well you stand alone like a microphone

you built the house up fine just to ignore the home.

it’s sad we take so much for granted

 

with only a smile to hold you up,

excuse to say it’s just another twist of bad luck.

it couldn’t have worked out better if you’d planned it.

it’s only your own conscience standing in your way.

you lost your stance to arrogance is that all that you can say?
